This free publication contains invaluable information for all benefit practitioners. It includes this information on CalWORKs, Food Stamps, Foster Care, Medi-Cal, Medicare, IHSS, and SSI and CAPI:

Action Alert is a free weekly newsletter highlighting state legislation and laws affecting food programs.


Health Law — Health Advocate — National Health Law Project 
Health Advocate a quarterly newsletter on the latest health law developments including federal and state laws, regulations and programs, court decisions in health care law as they affect low-income people as well as what other advocates are doing around the country. $ 85 per year in print form only.

Medicare — Medicare Watch — Medicare Rights Center
A national nonprofit founded in 1989, MRC helps older adults and people with disabilities get good, affordable health care. Stay up-to-date on health care policy news and changes in Medicare benefits and rules. This biweekly newsletter also offers Medicare Q&As and interesting cases from MRC's hotline.

Medi-Cal Long Term Care — Legal Network News— CANHR
Legal Network News is a quarterly newsletter with updates on changes in the Medi-Cal laws and regulations, estate planning strategies, and other legal developments affecting estate planning for long term care, nursing home litigation, and residents' rights. $150/$200 per year. Some articles are archived on the CANHR website and available for free.

Immigrants & Benefits — California Update — The California Immigrant Welfare Collaborative
CIWC was formed in 1996 to coordinate a statewide response to the welfare challenge facing immigrants in California. California Update updates on public benefits developments in California covering legislation, administrative policy, and litigation. It also contains announcements for trainings and other events of interest to advocates. $10 a year gets you the print newsletter plus policy papers, fact sheets, and samples of all community education materials.
